Sector monitoring and assessment brief

Editorial review: 30 September 2026

Scope

Assess generation, networks and energy services separately. An announced capacity target is a policy signal; it does not establish a funded project, procurement opportunity or guaranteed demand for a specific supplier.

Questions to assess

  • Who purchases the output or service, and what payment evidence is available?
  • Which grid connection, land, fuel, equipment and maintenance dependencies need specialist review?
  • How do construction, operating and collection risks change the commercial case?

Evidence and limits

The distribution-loss baseline and solar objective describe system performance and policy direction. They must be separated from project-specific economics and verified operating conditions.

Information needed to start

Technology, location, intended customer, technical assumptions, capital estimate and evidence supporting the revenue model.

How ABCI can support the assessment

The scope is agreed around the available evidence and the decision required. See the related service for its capabilities, deliverables and specialist coordination. Inclusion here does not claim a completed sector study, a client mandate or an available investment.
